MORE IMMIGRANTS.
THE DEVON'S ■ (I'eu United Press •' AUCKLAND,'November 25. • , Some 152 second-class, passengers from England arrived in New Zealand by. l'eaeral-Houlder-Shire liner Devon, which reached Auckland to-day from Liverpool. These are described as. of a particularly' good class, and include ,a large proportion of farmers and farm labourers. The' following are the bookings to the various ports ; of the Dominion:—Auckland- 39, Wellington 73, Lyttelton 8, Port Chalmers 19, New Plymouth 6, Westpprt 5, Oamaru 1. Of the total for all ports the various trades are represented as follows i-rPomes-tio'servants 6, farmers 20, farm.'labourers' 3, joiners 2, enginemen'and drivers.•BJ}cwv< penters 5, tailor's machinists 3, labourers 2, mechanics 5, butchers 2, turners 2, moulders 3, draughtsmen 2, clerks 3; and one each of the following: Fireman, grocer,; traveller, printer, painter, bricklayer» sorter, patternmaker, wardrobe • dealer, cycle maker, cabinet maker, and jeweller.' Mr Shanaghan, officer in charge of "the local labour bureau, stated that'; of the immigrants for Auckland, only nine war©; assisted by the Government, the other 30 being unassisted.
