At the half-yearly meeting.of the Bank of New South Wales, the report showed that the net profits were £167,928, which, with the sum of £33,988 brought forward, made a total of £201,916. A dividend of 10 per cent, was declared, £46,000 was added to the reserve, and £36,916 was carried forward. The Chairman stated that during the year their advances had increased by £1,915,000. There bad been ii considerable demand for money for development purposes in New South, Wales 'and Queensland. In New Zealand also their business was very active.
