At the Addington live slock market today there were lairly large entries of stock and a good attendance. Fat cattle were lather tinner. Store Bheep also showed a rise, and fat lambs were considerably better ill consequence of a small entry, and fat sheep at about last week's rates. Pigs sold well. Store and dairy cattle were dull of sale, There was nn nvorage yarding of store sheep, though somewhat smaller than in the previous week. The entry was made up principally of hoggets in the wool, forward shorn wethers, shorn two-tooths, and the balance ewes and lambs. There, was a firmer lone in the market, consequent upon the recent shower of rain and the rise in the price of wcol, though prices 'showed little change since the previous week, The demand for ewes and lambs was not quite so keen as for dry sheep, the ewes being mostly aged. Small lota of ewe hoggets in tho wool made 17s Gd; wither hoggets in tho wool, Ids OJd; shorn two-tooth ewes of medium quality, to 12s 7d; Bhorn two-tooth wethers, to 10s 10d; aged ewes in the ..wool, with'lambs, 9s to 13s sd, all counted; shorn four-tooth ewes, 15s Gd;' forwaKl shorn wethers, 13s to 14s 6d. There wag a much smaller entry of fat lambs itiia'n last week, and they were practically all oi prime quality. The butchers outbid the export buyers, and sharp rise in values took place, only one lot selling as low as 13s Id, and all others from 15s to 19s Gd. The yarding of fat sheep.-was not so largo as last week, aud included were good lines of wethers and ewes and shorn hoggets. The sale.opened at last week's orates, and the operators (export buyers), who were able to get a. few suitable, lines, kept the market hrm throughout. The range of prices was: Wethers in the wool 17s 9d to 24s Gd, prime shorn wethers-16s. to 2s, others 13s 6d to 15s Gd, wholly ewes 14s to 22s 6d, prime shorn' ewes, las Gd to 155 2d, others 10s Gd to 13s, shorn merino .wethers 13s 2d to 13s 7d, The supply of beef consisted of 286Jiead, and included »■ large proportion of good quality. ' At the oponing of the sale Ihe demand was slack, and ii number of pens were passed.' When values had been fixed there was a belter tone, and prices finally improved about 5s per head, compared with the previous week. The passed-in cattle were, afterwards, sold at satisfactory prices. The range of.'prices was: Steers £6 2s Gd to £10 10s, heifers £5 as to £9, and cows £& 16s to, £0 (equal to 24s Gd to 27s Gd for prime, 21s Gd to, 24s for medium, and 18s to 21s for cow and interior per 1001b). An average entry of veal calves sold at 4s Gd to 555, according to size and quality. There was.a good entry'of all cjasscs of pigs, and.a fairly keen, demand.
