The winner to receive a silver cup. Fifty-three pigeons were libernted on Saturday morning by Mr D. S. 1/aing, of Napier, who wired as follows:—"Liberated' at 4 this morning; perfect day." |T*he weather *wa.s line and clear right down the coast. The-wind at Wellington w&3 JT.N.E., at Cape Campbell IP 1 !, at Christchurcli X.E., Tiinaru and Oamaru westerly, but at Dunedin: the wind was a, ■ strong south-west. None of the , pigeons reached home on Saturday. The first arrival ; was at 7.35 a.m. on Sunday; when Mr Veitch'3 bird reached his loft. My Stone's bird arrived at 11.47 a-.m., Mr Huiclun's bird at 1.22 p.m., Mr Niven's bird at 122 p.m., Mr Knowles'a bird at 2.56 p.m.. and Mr Hunt's'bird at ' 4.4. None of the other competitors had birds homo on Sunday evening.
