(Received Nov. 22, at 4 p.m.) - Earl Crewe, ir an interview with Mr Daniel O'Connor, of Sydney, expressed surprise that Australia la^ge' 1 behind Canada, South Africa, and ■ New Zealand in encouraging immigration.' Be had pleaded for the appointment of a High Commissioner for the Commonwealth, and had more than once urged that the early selection of-a well-informed representative would be highly useful to the Colonial Office and highly hsneficial to tiro Commonwealth.
