(Pee United Press Association.) ■ / HOKITIKA, November 20. Shortly after midnight the Empire Hotel, one of the oldest-established' hostel ries on the West Coast, was completely burnt down. For some lime the Union Steam Ship Company's offices, the Bank of Now. Zealand, ;ind the Town Hall were ill imminent danger, but. thanks to the efficiency of the new water supply the fire was confined' to it 6 original outbreak,'.' The insurance, so far as is known, is £750 on the building and £500 on tlie furniture, all iu the Manchester office.-:" WINTON, November 20. The photographic studio and residence of Mr W. Cameron at Wiaton were destroyed by fire. Insurances: On the building, £325, in the Commercial Union; on the furniture and stock, £300 in the Alliance. The loss is estimated at £300 above the insurance. V . '
