Of the total ■deaths males contributed 110 and .females 10-1. Fifty-three of the deaths were of children under livo years of age, being 24.77 per cent, of the whole- number. .Forty-two of these weie under one year of age. There were 80 deaths of persons of 65 years and' upwards. Seventeen men (65, 65, 66, 71, 71, 72, 73, 74, 75, 77, 78, 79, 30, 85, 85, 87. 89) and 15 women (67, 63, 68, 70, 70. 81, 81, 82, 83, 35, 85, 89, 93) died at- Auckland; four ■men (67, 63, 63. 86) and eight- women <66 , 67, 68, 73, 76, 82, 87, 91) at Weiliiigton; eight men (68, 69, 71, 73, 76, 77, 77, 87) and six women (67, 72, 72, 74 , 75, 82) at Christchureh; and 14 men (63, 69, 70, 73, 74, 75, 76, 77, 77, 78, 83, 80, 88, 89) and eight women (66, 70, 72, 73, 74, 75, 77, 88) at Duncdin.
