THE PACIFIC.

THE .SUGGESTED CONFERENCE. FRENCH AND GRRMAJf VIEWS. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, October 27. In reierence to the Japanese suggestion for a conference of tho Powers to discuss mutters containing possibilities of friction in the Pacific, the Consul-generals of Germany and France, on being interviewed, said that they considered that there were no points of friction for Franco and Germany io discu&s. The opinion generally held in foreign circles -here is that the only point- of friction that could be discussed is one between China and Japan on the one sido and America, and Australia on the other. Tho Continental Powers have nothing to discuss, and therefore would be foolish to allow themselves to be dragged in.
