NEW ZEALAND PRODUCE IN LONDON.

(Fkom Odb Special Correspondent.) LONDON, Juno 26. WOOL. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency i Company, writing to mo to-day, say there i 6 no change to report as regards tho markets for raw wool. In Bradford and the other Home manufacturing centres business has been somewhat of a hand-to-mouth' character, and values for tops have tended in favour of buyers; but recently a firmer-tone has been manifest, particularly for merino wool. From America more favourable reports regarding the state of .the industry ;thore aro to hand, while a better tone is also reported on the' Continent, ami at tho moment the outlook generally is more encouraging. SHEEPSKINS, Yesterday the fourth series of public sales of woolled 6heepskins of the present year took place, the quantities catalogued being 6672 bales, including 1386 bales ficm New Zealand and 427 bales from Victoria. Messrs Balme tell me that the saleroom was well attended; competition was more active and general than for several months past, ' a feature of tho sales being the strength ! of tho American demand for the medium and finer descriptions of full-woolled New. Zealand crossbreds. Full-woollod merinos sold at an advance of from 7£ to 10 per cent., fine crossbreds 15 per cent., and coarse crossbreds 10 per cent. Siiortwoolled' merinos wero 7£ per cent, dearer, and crossbreds 7J per cent, for the coarse and 10 per cent, for the finer qualities. Pelts of'all grades were in good demand at an improvement of 7£ per cent, on merinos and 10 to 15 per cent, on crossbreds. As compared with prices current at the sales held on May 7. Messrs Balme quote: Merino, fidl and three-quarter, sd per lb dearer; merino half-woolled, f,d per lb dearer; merino short and shorn, |d per lt> dearer; crossbred fine, full and three-quarter wdolled. Id per lb dearer; crossbred coarse, full and three-quarter woolled, |d to -jj-d per lb dearer; crossbred, half-woolled, |d to |d per lb dearer; crossbred short and 6horn, {(d per lb dearer; lambs, id per lb dearer. Messrs Balme 6end me tho following table comparing present prices for woolled sheepskins with those ruling after the previous series of c-ales:— .New Zealand. Present Preceding Quotations. I Messrs Weddel say that thcro have been } no arrivals of butter from Australia this week; from New Zealand only 1281 boxes have arrived, and these have been rapidly absorbed at 110s to 112s per cwt. TALLOW. Of tallow the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company reports that at tho threo most recent auctions there has been a, more active inquiry, and prices for all descriptions mark an advance of about £2 per ion, excepting for lino mutton, which was appreciated to not quito the same extent At the sales hold two di'ys ago the demand was not quite so good, but as the available supplies are not abnormal this firm hardly anticipates any serious break in values in tho immediate future. In Australasian for arrival little business has been passing, ideas of values both in tho-. Commonwealth and tho Dominion being above tho, market here. Quotations are: Fine mutton, 33s 6d to 345; fair to good, 31a 6d to 335; and ediblo beef, 31s 6d to 32>> 6d per cwt. SKW ZEALAND I'LAX. Tlia New Zealand Loan ami Mercantile Agency Company remarks that the Dominion continues to olfer flax sparingly, and business in consequence-has been within moderate compass. Owing to tho anxiety of speculators to cover, values appreciated considerably, but latterly this support has been withdrawn, and the market closes quiet, at about £1 per ton advance for "good fair," whilo ''fair" quality sells at. late rates. Quotations ore: "Good The quick results of Chamberlain's Tablets in the cure of Biliousness, and prompt relief of all rte bad symptoms is 6onietlung unequalled by any other medicine. They cleanse the stomach, clear out and gently stimulate tho liver, drive away every symptom of pain, distress and discomfort. For falo everywhere.

There is no change in the position of cocksfoot. The New Zealand Loan* and Mercantile. Agency Company 'remarks tl-.at no seed will be required for many months, so buyers can afford to stand aside and wait for definite information as to tho American and Continental crops. Recent advices from America stato that there are excellent prospects for a good harvest, which it is expected will begin early next month; 171b seed is quoted at 80s per cwt, ex warehouse. NEW ZEALAND MEAT, While the demand for mutton is still far from satisfactory, the New Zealand Lean and Mercantile Agency Company saye there has recently been moro inquiry, and j holders havo been aolo to obtain slightly ! higher"rates. Canterbury mutton is quoted I at 3£<l to 4Jd, and North Island at 3id to t 3-Jd per lb. Favourable weather has in- j flucnced the demand for lambs, whioh is ] now very good; prices have advanced, particularly in tho case of secondary descrip-', tione. Canterbury lamb is quoted at sjd to sfid per lb, North Island at 4{jd to s|d per lb. Latest quotations for Now Zealand hindquarters of beef are 4d to 4|d per lb and forequartors id to SJd per lb. The 0. C. and D. Company reports the arrival this week of the s.s. Star of Scotland with 32,034 carcases of New Zealandmutton and. the s.s. Tongariro with 20,117. Although tho supplies that have been coming to hand lately, are by no m<-nns heavy, there does not seem to be any lifo in the various markets, and speculators aro disinclined to buy ahead. Prices ehtw no change from last • week. Stocks of lamte have been increased by 74,965 carcases from New Zealand anc| 2739 carcases from Australia. Although there is r.o quotable change in values prices have a firmer tendency, and the demand generally is satisfactory. There have arrived 4010 quarters of beef from New Zealand and 7845- from South America. During the week there has been another rise in tho value of hindquarters, New Zealand descriptions having advanced about id per lb; forequartors baye not adranccd in sympathy. The C. C._ and D. Company quotes New Zealand hinds at'4Jd'to 4§d per lb and forequarlers at 3i<l per lb.
