Gcorgo Brown wrote offering to clear fcorso off his proporty and the roadJinp. fronting tho same conditionally that tho adjoining properties, which were' also covered with tho pest, wero also cleared.— To bo informed that, as the board had not adopted tho provisions of tho Noxious Weeds Act, it could not make any undertaking. Thomas Maltby wrote expressing tho hope that tho board would favourably consider tho widoning of tho hill road past Mr Dunford's property. -Resolved that Messrs Somerville, Scott, and Wither be appointed a subcommittee to report on tlio project. Mr Ellis waited on tho board with reference to the bad state of Beach street, and asked that a footpath bo formed.-Re-solved that Messrs Somerville, Scott, and Wither inspect the road, with power to act. The Town Clerk, Dunedin, wrote asking, on behalf of tho City Council's Electrical Power and Lighting Committee, for permission to supply electrical energy for ipower and lighting purposes to various consumers who might apply for tho same.— Resolved that Messrs Scott, Wither, M'Curdy, and Somerville wait upon tho City Electrio Power and Lighting Committee, and report to a special meeting of tho board, to be called by the chairman on short notice. Mr Hunt waited upon the board with reference to tho open drain'in front of his property, Oakland, and offered to find pipes to close it in, conditionally that the board find tho necessary labour-Left in the hands of Messrs Wither, Scott, and Somerville, with power to act. The Peninsula Road Board wrote enclosing three letters from residents complaining of the want of an outlet on to the Main road at Beaoh street, and requesting tlio board to provido the same,—Received; to 1m attended to. Mr J. Weir's tender for carting for 12 months was accepted, as from date. Cutten and Hart wrote with reference to tho proposed Outten's road given to the board, and enclosing an altered plan of the road, making it 35ft wido at the narrowest part-Resolved that tho plan be ap. proved,-and'signed by Hie chairman nml Mr Hewitt. Tho Ranger reported having impounded 18_cows and three horses during tho month. —Received. Mr Scott reported that it was impossible to obtain screenings in tho district, and that a good deal was at present required in various places. -Referred to tho committee, to mako arrangements for an immediate supply.
