Values ruled as' under:— . . Oats.—There are no fresh features to report. A few holders continue to foreo their lines upon the market, and as merchants earn- fair stocks and are not -prepared to purchase unless at a considerable reduction, values-ore slightly easier than at bur last report. We quote: Seed lines, 2s Gd to 2s 9d; prime milling, 2s-2d to 2s 2Jd; good to bast feed, 2s Id to 2s ljd; inferior to nredium. Is lid to 2s per bushel (sacks extra). Wheat.—Business is quiet in this market, millers declining to operate at the advances lately asked' hy holders. Fowl wheat has moderate inquiry. Arrivals are fairly' heavy, _ and as shippers 'are not over-keen operators in any but choice lines, values for medium to inferior sorts show. a marked decline. Choice-linos'in Up-to-Dafes, realise to £4 2s Gd, whilst prime, Derwents hring to £i 7s 6d. These figures also indicate a considerable drop on late quotations. We quote: Prime Dcrwenu. £4 2s Gd to' £4 7s Cd; medium to good, £3 17s Gd to £i; prime Up-to-Dates, £4 to £i 2s 6d; medium to good. £3 15s to £3 17s-Gd; small and inferior, £3 2s Gd and upwards per ton (bags Cliaff.—The market is over-supplied. Our catalogue was made up of the usual lines of grain and: produce in demand locally, but although there was a large gathering of buyers, bidding, was ' not keen, and only aj portion of the cataloguo was quitted- at auction, the balance being passed- in for private sale. Values ruled as under:—. ■ Oats.—During tho past week there has bsen fair demand for,A and B grade Spairowbills and A grado Gartens for export. Buyers are not disposed to make heavy purchases, but as holders «re hot generally disposed to accept current' rates offerings are not large, and nearly all oats coming into the above grades, sure saleable at quotations. Lower grades and- "special classes of oafs, such as feed, Danish, black oats, etc., have littlo inquiry. Seed lines—clean, plump, and bright—are in fair demand, We quote: Choice reed lots. 2s Gd to 2s lfld; good do, 2s 3d to 2s 6d; primo milling; 2s 2d to 2s 2Jd; good to best feed, 2a Id to 2» ljd; inferior, Is lOd to 2s per bushel (sacks extra). Wheat—Local stocks are light, and are chiefly medium' quality, for which there is not much demand. Even prime quality has not received the same oltcirion from millers of loie, and- no business of a-ny inrportanco' can bo, reported. Fowl wheat' continues to movo off slowly at late values. .We quote: Seed' lines, 4s Gd to 4s 10d; prime milling, 4s 3{d ; to 4s 4Jd; medium to good, 4s-3d to 4s 3d; whole fowl -wheat, 4s to 4s Id; broken and damaged-, 8s te 3s 9d per bushel .(sacks extra). Potatoes.—Shippers are not operating freely, as northern markets do not at -pte-< sont readily respond to their quotations. It is therefore impossible to effect sales on tho basis of late values. In all cases buyers are very particular as to quality and condition, and decline to ship any doubtful lines.
