In the House of Commons Mr M'Kcnua (First Lord of the Admiralty) informed Viscount Catiileiva-gh that- the Admiralty was fintisiicd that Jiord Bercsford's manoeuvre, cabled on the 7th, was not dangerous, hut that Admiral Scott was justified in turning his ship the other way, believing that the order -involved risk, and Admiral Beresford so informed him at the time. The statement was received with cheers.
