MAIN TRUNK RAILWAY.

(From Our. Own Cobb.E3pohotnt.) WELLINGTON, July 27. The gap between the rail heads on the Main Trunk railway is daily getting shorter. It has now been reduced to about a mile and a-half, tho actual distance on Saturday being a milo and 50 chains. Tho Manganuiateao viaduct, tho last bridge, will be completed, bar unforeseen accidents, in about a week, and if tho weather is at all favourable it is anticipated that the train conveying tho parliamentary party to the fleet festivities will ho able to run right through from Wellington to Auckland at tho end of next week. Some ballasting will be required after all the rails are down, and the completion of tho viaduct will facilitate this work.
