NEW ZEALAND DENTAL SCHOOL
A TERY SUCCESSFUL INSTITUTION. FURTHER GRANT WANTED. (Fitoa Oun Ow;f Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, July 27. The question of tlio Now Zealand DentaJ School cropped up at a meeting of the Otago members to-day. Mr Ja-mes Allen eaid tlio scliool, wliich had boon established in conncction with iho Otago University College, was a great success; indeed it was a much greater success than tho University Council ever anticipated it would be. It was already doing an immense amount of good to the community and would be of great advantage to the Dominion generally. It had been started in a. small way, and it was never anticipated that it would grow so fast. At present there were no fewer than 250 patients attending die DentaJ Hospital, aJid the number of honorary dental surgeons had been increased to 12."' gome of thein came down every morning, and assisted to deal with this large number of patients. Tho scliool had grown to such an extent, that a further grant had bccome necessary. The-amount needed was £2000. It was decided to ask .the Government for a. grant of that amount.
