Mails close at the Chief Post Office, Pun- J edin, as under:— For Northern ' Ports, Christehurch, and Intermediate Offices, overland, daily G. 30 a.m. (late letters C.P.O. 7.40; oil instil van 8 a.m.). Mails for Northern Ports are 1 also closed every Saturday at 12.45 p.m. For "Waikouaiti, Palmerston, Oamaiu, Waimate, Temuka, Timaru, Ashburton, Christehurdi, pel- Second Express, daily, at 12.45 p.m. (late letters, C.P.0,, 1 p.m.; on guard's van 1.28- p.m.).
