CITY POLICE COURT.
-o Friday, Juhb 19. (Before Mr H. Y. AViddowson, S.M.] Drunkenness.—David Henderson, having boon previously convicted within the last 6ix months, was fined 10s, or 48 hours' imprisonment,—Arthur William Valentine, on remand after medical to become, subject, to a prohibition order, end on being convicted was ordered to pay £1 2s od costs. Maintenance—James Henry Wilson, who was summoned at Christchurch on a charge of non-payment of a claim for the maintenance of his sister, said he wished to have his evidence taken at, Duncdin. He stated that he was 29 years of age. He was a journeyman plasterer, and a married man with ono child one year and seven months. Ho had a sister, and there was a summons against him for the- sum of 4?s. AVhen ho first got. the notice, last Aiwut, ie was not in a position to pay the 2s (id «■ iveuc, demanded, and had not been in a position to pay it since. He had been his sister's guardian, ami had helped to support her until ho got married, lie then found it impossible to pay. anything towards her support, although ho had fried to do so. The specified plasterer's wage was i.i 6s, hut his earnings averaged throughout, the last 10 months about £2 5s to £2 10s per wool;. .
