The jury returned a verdict of "Accidental death " in the- shooting of Dunn by Rosier at Klsternwick. It appears that for some time dissatisfaction was felt by J. "W, Rosier with his brother-in-law, Hugh Kyle Dunn, supernumerary warder at Pentridgc, owing to y the impression of the former that the lattewas ill-treating his wife. # Apparently, on the night of the 12th inst., D\inn visited Rosier, on friendlv terms, and. the two wero conversing together in tho front room, the only other person in the house being Mrs Rosier, who was in the back room. Suddenly she heard the report of a gun, and rushing into the front room found Dunn lying prostrate, with a gaping wound in the region o£ tiie heart, and Rosier standing near' by in an "veiled condition, with tho gun in his hands. A police sergeant was called in. and, on examining Dunn's body, found that his watch had stopped at seven minutes to 8, and that a glass in the room had sbeen shattered by the 6hot. Tho gun found m.Rosier's possession was a doub'o-bnr-fy relied breech-loader. Rosier is 49 years old, and son of J. IV. Hosier, a well-known gunmaker in Melbourne.
