Cr Gilkison moved the adoption of the Water Committee's report, and in doing so stated, in Reference 1o an application made by tho Maori Hill Council that the bush on tho corporation reservoir property in the township of Woodend bo cut back, that they had received a report on tho matter. This stated that to cut away this bush would bo an act of vandalism, and, under the circumstances, tho committee declined the -request. . The damage to waterworks property referred to in tho report was a very small matter indeed, involving a sum of something like 47s' A number of boys playing on a Sunday had done the damage.
