oTHE INQUEST. (Per United Pbess Association.) NAPIER, May 12 An inquest was held this morning touch* ins tho death of Miohael Kirby, of Hastings, a butcher, aged about 30, who died at the Napier Hospital on the 10th inst. while under the influence of an anesthetic. -It appeared that deceased had been suffering from a broken arm and had not beer in good health. Ho accidentally broke hi leg on Sunday and was brought in from Hastings in an express instead of in th« ambulance waggon. The jury returned tlia following verdict:—"That deceased died from collapse of the right lung while under an anesthetic, and tho jiiry are of. opinior that every care was taken in the administration of the anaesthetic.'' The following rider was added:—"That inquiry should be made as to the charges for tho use of tin ambulance for Hastings, with a viow t.< placing it on such a footing that, it may be avaikblo at a moderate price."
