A MEAN THEFT.
STEALING FLOWERS FROM A CEMETERY. (Pzr United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, May 12. At the Magistrate's Court to-day, Charlotte Polstti admitted stealing four pieces of ribbon, valued at ss, from a grave in the Linwood Cemetery. She said she was the wife of a hawker, and could not give any reason for stealing the ribbon. The Magistrate said it was a most contomptiblo theft, and he would not allow that sort, of thing to bo practised. She richly deserved to bo sent to gaol, and if it were not for her family he would send her there. She would 'be fined £5, in default ono month's imprisonment.
