WELLINGTON, April 9. A deputation representing licensed billiard saloon proprietors asked the City Council to extend . tho hour of closing from 10 to 11 o'clock. Tho Council of Churches followed with a deputation opposing tho extension. The first deputation urged that 11 o'clock was the closing hour m Christchurch and Auckland, where tho fco was £1, ag./jjainst £5 in Wellington. - Rents also were much higher hero.
