STORMS IN WESTLAND.
(Per United Pbess Association.) HOKITIKA, April 7. V'i' fjtormy weather last week did a deal of! damage in South West-land, traffic boinw interrupted. Mr Seddon, M.P,, who is on ' a tour of the district delivering postsessional addresses, was delayed for 10 days in tho Haast district owing to floods and damage to the roads. The storm was a. prolonged one. In 12 days 20in of rain fell. At Okuru the lightning and thunder ' were almost incessant. The telephone line was badly damaged, and is still interrupted , - in the south. All ford crossings were' scoured out. 1 ' ; v'\
