The Clutha Hack Racing Club herd its annual meeting yesterday in fine weather, and there was an attendance of about 500. Tenuis Association to-night decided, to postpone the selection of the ladies team to' visit Australia pending a reply torag received from Sydney with reference to accommodation. MASTERTON,) MARCH 5. The 'Wairarapa Ladies' Swimming Club's sports were held to-day. The sports were of a very private nature, and no males were • allowed to be present. Even the press, representatives were excluded. Taking such steps as these is strongly commented on t by the public and 1 also by a number'of mombers of the club. The general opinion is that

it will not be oonducivo to the success of the club. The 25yds. Championship was won by Miss E. Cunningham; 25yds Handicap by Mrs N.
