Among clubmen the same difficulty was felt, and nothing beat W. Franklin's score made on the previous cvenmg. An analysis of tho highest 20 prize-takers in each match shows tho Volunteers to be the botter t averaging 91.6 per man, against 85. During the day the range Was visited by Colonel Robin, C.8., Surgeon major Purdie, Captain O'Sidlivan, and Lieut.-colonel Hawkins, Canterbury. After inspecting the range the three latter fired at the running man, Col. Hawkins winning by 3 points, In the Auckland Match, which waß continued, the scoring was poor at tho 500 yds, the principal scores being H. Hawthorne and Drummond with 66.
