ACCIDENTS.
'(Per United Peess Association,) WELLINGTON, March 5. Edward Brough, 32 years, employed in the Government railway goods shed, was run over by a. truck last evening while endeavouring to place a tarpaulin on. He was taken- to tho hospital, where his- right arm had to be amputated juet below tho shoulder. The man is 'progressing satisfactorily. INVERCARGILL, March .5. A man named Wiig, who had been invited 1 to sco the new machinery at the Southland Freezing Company's works at the Bluff, was bending over a shaft, when the key in it caught his coat, and ho was carried round two or three times. His coat ,was torn to ribbons and his arm broken, while he sustained other injuries. Fortunately the shaft was travelling at half-speed. )U,i.mn.»iP mum—
