(From Our Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, March 5. No fewer than 250 girls are attending' the bookkeeping, shorthand, and typewritng classes at ' the Technical School, whereas thqre arc only 40 who are learning lo cook. The director of the school thinks there is not. quite 60 much indifference shown to the art of housekeeping by the young ladies of Auckland, Christchurch, and Dunodin. Possibly thero arc better opportunities for "girls to obtain congenial office work in the capital than in the other centres.
