CIIHISTCUURCH, Uccember 17. The Arbitral ion Court gave judgment, lo<l;iy in the ease in .which Ihe Weslport' Coal Company charged the Denniston Coat \\orkois' Union with having committed jl breach of Ihe award bv inducing members to refuse io abide bv clause 16. The award provided (hat the men should be at the face for eight hours. The union was of opinion that "The Coal Mines Ad, 1907. had established Ibe *" baiik-to-bunk" principle, and that reduced their working hours accordingly. The court held that the union hail committed a. breach of tlio award, but lho_ union oflicers had acted under a Itoua. lide misapprehension. No line would be inflicted, but the union' must abide by the terms of the award, and any further breach would have to bo severely punished. The union was ordered to pay costs.
