COLONEL MACKENZIE ACTIVE,
NATIVE SENTENCED FOR SEDITION.
Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. DURBAN, December 13. Colonel Mackenzie has occupied all tho commanding positions in Zululand, and has columns in various directions. Jle is collecting all tho rebellious, and reassuring the loyalists. December 14. (Received Dec. 15, at 4.50 p.m.) Colonel Mackenzie noticed the absence of the young men from Usuta, and that no firearms wore found, though it is understood they were previously plentiful. He warned the natives to deliver the rel>els and arms by to-morrow, otherwise the troops would lake action.
The Native High Court- at Mnritzburg' has fined the acting chief of Quabe £500, besides sentencing him to 18 months'.' imprisonment, on a charge of sedition. The accused has been allowed bail pending an appeal to the Privy Council.
