ACCIDENTS.

(Per United Piiess Association.) AUCKLAND, July 18. As a tramcar was coming down Pitt street .'it 9.30 a.m. to-day an old man, who is stated to bo a resident of Avondalo, walked right in front of it at the Grey street corner. Ho was knocked down and earned under the platform, but as the ear was proceeding at a slow pneo il was quickly brought to a standstill, and a serious accidcnt was averted. The man, who was deaf, sustained a bad cut on tlio head.

Yesterday at. 1 o'clock a youth, cycling at a great speed down, Park street, ran over a broken lemonado boltlo, which cut his front tyre to pieces and was finally jammed betweon the wheel and the front forks Of the machine. The boy fell heavily; sustaining a broken wrist and soveraJ minor injuries in the way of cuts and bruises. A man named George lioljson, employed at, tho Hillsido Railway Workshop, was yesterday the victim of a somewhat painful accident, which necessitated his removal to tho Hospital. ITobson slioped on a stick, it appears, a-nd fell forward on to a circular saw which was in motion, with tlie result that his 'arm was out to tho bone. •
