The following are the bank returns for the, June quarter Deposits, free £12,213,939; fixed, £9,629.025; Government, £2,419,147: discounts, £1,987.162: advances, £16,033.552; note circulation £1.69? ,328; coin and bullion, £4,755,308! The ordinary deposits show an increase of nearly £800.000 on the previous quarter, but this is confined to free deposits, the fixed deposits showing a diminution of £71,486, which is attributed to a heavy flow to the Savings Bank. The assets are £26,015,486; liabilities, £26,134,728.
