A telegram received at the Stock Exchange yesterday gives the height of tho Molyneux River as being 3ft lOin above tho normal mark at Alexandra. Tho weather was mild.

The depth and bottom are unchanged.' Writing under date Ist inst., the master of the Sailor's Bend dredge reports that tho bushes of the bottom tumbler are broken. This news was received by wire in Dunedin early on Monday morning, and inquiries were at once made in town, and a duplicate set was obtainea in the Dunedin Engineering Company's foundry. The set is being forwarded to Alexandra by this morning's train, and should reach the dredge ar.d bo fitted on in time to allow of dredging operations being recommenced on the 8 to 12 shiit to-night. Reporting for week ending June 23, the roaster of th-a Alexandra Load dredge writes: Weput in 170 hours' dredging during the week, the dredge working up along the southoast boundary of the Molyneux Hydraulic claim. "Wo will be finished there in a couple of days. The machine will then be worked on a cut leading into'the Chinamen's gardens. The dredge is working fairly well, with tko usual small stoppages. We may expect as good a return as was obtained at last washup. as gold is showing on the ina-ts." The secretary of the Nokoiaai Hydraulic Sluicing Company reports that practically no work was done at No. 1 for the past week owing to the severity of the weather and a break on Digger's Creek raw, near a gully which had been scoured out by the water spout last January. A telegram received on Tuesday says:—"Races repaired and cleaned, sluicing resumed." • At No. 2 hard frosts - have prevailed, with the exception of two days, ar.d the water in the dam is decreasing. On Saturday it was 7ft from being full. Sluicing has been carried on during the week excepting on Tuesday, when a stop was mad© to renew the elevator castings. *o. i - was omy able to work 18 hours, because of the snow, of which there is about one foot on the sadcile. Tho Mystery Flat dredge resumed work on Saturday, 52nd June, after a. general overhaul. Tha groader part of the cut is looking well, but the western 'section is poor and deep. The master of the Lady Roxburgh dredge states in his report for the week ending June 20: " The dredge will be up in the breast of the old cut by Tuesday. The ground is still about the same.' Tho dredge was working near the road, the ground being nearly all clay, with very little wash. It will be two or three weelcs before the ground shows much improvement. From indications some distance ahead of the dredging face. I think that the worked ground referred to will cut put. If it does not do so the strip will bo very narrow.
