MR MACINTOSH AND THE DIRECTORS.

Mr Alexander Macintosh, formerly general manager of the Bank of New Zealand, is petitioning- Parliament, claiming £1432 salary, -payable to him as chief auditor of the Bank of Now Zealand.; lie points out that, against his' own wish, lie was compelled to discharge the duties of auditor (while also acting as general manager) between June 22, 1903, and April 16, 1901, because tho then Colonial Treasurer (Mr Seiidon) refused to accept his resignation as auditor. Tho Petitioner states that he continued to act ns general manager of tho bank till March. 1906, "on which date, because of different which had arisen l)e----tween himself and the directors of the said bank, he. felt compelled in his own interests to relinquish tho position." In addition to the request in regard to salary earned but not. paid, Mr Macintosh asks 'that, the House will, "in tho interests of the Bank of ,New Zealand and of the colony, be pleased to direct that an inquirv be held into the cireumstnnccs which led to the retirement of petitioner from tho service oi the bank." Mr Macintosh is now manaeer of the. Government. Savings Bank of New South Wales.. His petition was presented by Mr Aitken, M.H.R.
