ALLEGED SWINDLE EXPOSED.

The Daily Express reveals what is alleged to be a great swindle conducted by Mrs Elizabeth Home (who represented herself as u daughter of tlia late Bishop Cowie, of Auckland), Mrs Catherine Christie' (aged 80), and a negro. These three, it is alleged, formed a syndicate, and had worked London and Paris, for years in developing 32,000' square miles in Madagascar for timber, gold, precious stones, and guins. The project was conducted in the name of charity, every investor being sworn to secrecy by the solicitors.
Inquiries revealed the French Government's nflieiiil disavowal of the concession.

The woman referred to in the cablegram must have been merely a person posing as tho daughter of the lute Bishop Cowie.
