SIR JOHN HALL'S FUNERAL.

CHRISTCHURCH, .Tune 28. About 200 poreons left Christchureh by special ■ain this morning to attend the funeral of Sir John Hall at Hororata. Theparty represented all classes of the community. Among them were Bishon Julius, the Hon. H. F. AVigram. M.L.C.'Mr Justice Chapman, Mr C. Lewis and Mr Jas. Allen, M.H.R.'s (representing the Opposition), also a large number of clergymen of ail denominations. The City Council was also represented, besides the Law Society, the A. and P. Association, the Chamber of Commerce, the governors of Canterbury College, the Kx-Contingenters' Association, the Ellesraero A. and P. Association, the Charitable Aid Board, the Salvation Army, •the Art Society, the Yorkshire Society, the Selwyn County Council, the Lyttelton and Ashbnrton Boroughs, and many others. Handsome florai tributes were forwarded from all quarter?, including; wreaths from the Government and the Prime Minister. Tho Government was not officially represented, owing to Ministers not being able to get down from Wcllii-jton, but an appreciative telegram was received, from Sir J. G. Ward, expressing regret and sympathy. TJio body was conveyed''to Coalgatc in a mortuary van on the special l rain. The cemetery is four miles from Coalgate.
