RAILWAY COLLISION.
-TWO ENGINES DAMAGED.
At rnkWiy yenterday tiro railway engines, one returning to the sheds and one going iji the direction of tlio Dunedin Station, collided on tho enginc-ehed road. At tho time of the collision Hie engines were travelling at a (speed of about six miles per hour, and the impart was sufficiently strong to causo the derailment of tho bogey of one, while both were badly smashed albout the front. The driver of ono engine, C. Reeves, was struck by a flying lump of coal and slightly injured about the head. Tho other men escaped with a shaking. The running <of the engine-shod Toad or track is worked from tho signal-box at Andcrson'n Bay orcseing and tho one at Rattray street conjointly, and the signal "line clear" must be received from one end before an engine can proceed from the other. Yesterday's accident is said to liavc arisen through a misunderstanding betweoen the two signalmen. The usual departmental inquiry will be hold. ;
