At a meeting of the Auckland Crown Linds Board tho Commissioner (Xlr Mackenzie) suggested that a resolution be recorded that licensees and lessees now in arrears with their rent be sued for tho came, or their sections forfeited, whichever course wa3 deemed' advisablo in the circumstances of individual cases. There were, tho Commissioner .roported, a number of struggling tonants not able to pr,v up, and they were receiving consideration; but there were a number who had taken up land not necessarily for speculativo purposes, and they were not living on it, but had an idea of making improvements atsom? time in the future. Though they were quite able to pay the rest eojne would not pay, and wore trading on the leniency of the board. A motion in the direction suggested by tlio commissioner was agreed to.
