AUCLAND, June 2'* The Trades and Labour Counoil the resolution of tlio Canterbury Tradei Council protesting against tho proposal tq subsidise a fast lino of mail steamers td tlio extent proposed. The counoil also resolved' to protest to tho Minister of Justice against tlio present methods of selecting eoroncrs' juried. It was stated that tho samo jurymen wero seen on different inquests, and that men were standing about looking for these jobs for the sake of the payment, which waa easily earned.
