PROTESTING AGAINST THE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT.

At. a. meeting to-day the South Canterbury Hoard of Education passed a. resolution protesting against the action of Hie department in deciding to make no travelling; allowance for those children who travel to echool from a distance per horse or bicjcle. The Chairman said ho hoped that every board in the colony would pass a. similar resolution.
