FORGERY

"Forgery is treated in this colony in a very much too free and easy manner," said Mr Justice Denniston in the Supreme Court this morning when sentencing Walter >Scott to 12 months' imprisonment for forging a cheque at Hawera. Ilia Honor reminded the prisoner that not long ago thie offence was a. banging matter.
