A special meeting of the Federal Cabinet considered a cable from Mr Deakin regarding mail matters. Sir John Forrest gave Jio information beyond stating that the Government was now in a. position to negotiate finally for an extension of the Vancouver service. He hoped to make a statement on the subject shortly.
