OTAGO RUGBY FOOTBALL UNION.

Tho weekly meeting of tho committee was held last night, Mr G. W. C. Macdon aid iu the chair.

The Union Football Club asked that P. rumor s ease should be reconsidered. Turner had been ordered oft the field last year in a Second Grade match between Pirates ami Union, but hail left for Sydney on the day after the occurrence, and had therefore not had an opportunity to appear before the committco.—The Secretary said that Turner was charged by tho referee. Mi' Ballantyne, with unnecessarily rough play.—lt was agreed to hear the applicant next Monday night, the referee to be asked to attend 011 the same night. The Miller's J-'lat Club asked if the three clubs in their district should arrange their flag matches or should tho arrangement be made by the O.R.F.U.—The clubs to arrange their own matches. The Kensington School Club applied for leave to practise on tho Caledonian Ground on one or two evenings a week.-Granted.

'l'lie Schools Football Committee wrote agreeing to the suggestion made that school matches should be played in two spells of lialf an hour each.—Received; the Referees' Association to bo notified accordingly.

11. A. Stalker wrote stating that in 1893 lie was disqualified for accepting a trophy without the consent of tho O.R.F.U. 11c thought he had now suffered sufficiently for that, and asked that the disqualification be removed. He had no intention of playing again, but would like to offer his services in the interest of the game to help the Referees' Ai-ociation.—lt was explained that- Stalker accepted a gold watch, and was disqualified for doin<; so. lie was informed at tho time that if ho returned the watch the disqualification would he removed. Later on it was stated that the watch had been lost.- -it was agreed to recommend the New Zealand Rugby Union to remove the disqualification. The Secretary stated that the president of the Referees' Association had requested him to ask the assistance of the O.R.F.U. in obtaining more members for the association.—lt was resolved that the secretary be authorised to act as requested by the association.

The Caledonian Society notified that it had asked its members not to use their society tickets at the M'Kewen benefit match next Saturday.—Received.

It was resolved "to acquaint the secretary of tho Tidnina Park Company that the union did not accept any responsibility with regard to puttir/j in a caretaker on Saturdays. It was resolved to pay the Kaikorai Ground Company £50 a year, subjcct to obtaining a three years' 'case; in the event, of the company making two suitable grounds, £10 extra to be riven. Mr H. Harris was appointed sole selector on tho motion of Mr Campbell, soconded by Mr Cavanugh.

It was resolved—" Thai loams goiiiß to Mosjjiel travel by the 1.15 p.m. train; tlmt players arc not to go across the lino at Mosgicl; and that matches start at llosgiel it 2.45 p'.m."

Ill' Campbell reported the result of his recent visit to Wellington, in company v.'ith Mr Hutchison, to attend the meeting of the New Zealand Union. lie thought the fact that the different unions worn sending delegates to the meeting was a step in the right direction. Apart from some potty discussions the meeting was an excellent one, and he was delighted that he had had the privilege of goinjt to the meetinir. Mr Hutchison also addressed the members on the result of the meeting.—lt was resolved to minute a vote of thanks to tlio delegates for the able way in which the.v had represented tJie union. OTAGO FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION.

A mooting of the Otago Football Association was held in Mr Ilnnlon's office last evening under the presidency of Mr J. Kmslie.

Mr Morrison, who hail liocn appointed to report, said ho had visited the Asylum Ground on Sunday last, but there was no indicatiou of playing. The referee in the mateh between Northern and Mornington wrote stating that t'no right full back of the former team .had teen ordered off the field for tripping.— The player was in attendance, and explained that the trip was not intentional. —It was decided to caution the player in accordance with tho expressed desire of the referee.

Tho Secretary of the Beferccs' Club wrote stating that there ■ were no goal areas or centre line anil circle marked out on Culling Park.—lt was decided to call tho attention of the Southern Club to the mutter and to request that tJio ground be set out properly. Tho captain of tho Albany Street B team wrote complaining that in the reecnt match with Forbury B the game had been spoiled I).V eight members of tho Northern team who encroached on nearly half the ground, —The Northern Club to be written to for an explanation.

Tho Secretary Otago Harbonr Board wroto stating that permission had been granted to mako a ground on the board's endowment, but not to the exclusion of other societies who desired similar privileges.—Arrangements for erecting goal posts and marking ground left in Mr Braithwaite's hands.

R, H. M'Leod wrote applying for a transfer from Koslyn to Morningtcn Club. —Granted, subject to the player obtaininj a clcarancc from his late club, and in accordance with bv-law 18.

It was resolved' to write to the Battalion Club asking it to have the line properly marked out and old lines filled in on Montceillo Ground.
