Eulogistic references were made in regard to tho excellent work done by tho clerk {Mr P. A. Coutls), and 011 the motion of Air W. S. Bedford, seconded by Mr W. G. Hay, it was decided to present that gentleman with a memento. Mr Coutts suitably replied. Tlie election of office-hearers resulted as follows;— Speaker, Mr Barclay, M.11.R.; deputy speakers, the Hon. J. B. Cailan, M.L.C.. and Mr W. D. Stewart; chairman of committees, Mr .T. Hntlon: clerk of the House, Mr I>. A. Coutts, with Mr Lilly as a deputy; Council. Messrs ,T. Sykes, R. Gilkison. W. G. Hay. W. S. Bedford, and R. Burk; auditors, Messrs 11. Brash and W. Davidson. Ten now members were elected, nnd a discussion concorning the numerical strenrrth of the union resulted in membership being fixed at 100. instead of 75, as heretofore. Mr Bedford resigned the Premiership and Mr R. Gilkison was nominated to tho office. A vote of thanks to the outgoing office-bearers closed tho proceedings.
