(Per United Press Assochtioh.) •AUCKLAND, May 4. The steady growth of tho flax industry in Auckland dfctrict is tihov/n by the fact that during April. 1507, the beinp graded at thi3 purt totalled 6290 hales, or 100S lens, of the total value of £27,000. This is an increase upon tho output for March of 733 bales, or 129 tons. As compared with tho quantity of hemp dealt with for April, 1906, the output last month shows mi increase of 2105 hides, or 314 tons, being tho second largest since grading started.
