GATHERING OF MAORIS.
THE OBJECT OF THE MEETING. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, May 3. The object of tho Native gathering at Waahi. near Huntly. which was fixed to commence to-day, as set forth in a circular, is to discuss (11 the sufferings through injustice or tho Natives of New Zealand: (2) tho agreement of Queen Victoria with our ancestors in the Trealv of Waitangi; (3) the Parliament of New Zealand; (1) tho Parliament of England; (5) the prestige or rights Imana) of our ancestors; and (6) the cause of the decimation of tho Maori race. The number of Natives who had arrived nt 'Waahi last night- was estimated at between 3000 and 4000.
