The Mayora of KaiopoL and Raugiora, willi prpmincnt business men from each town, brought under tho notice of Mr Buddo, M.If.R., that inconvenience would result if permits to hold tho half-holiday for shops and factories on the same day ill tlie week were withdrawn. Mr Buddo has telegraphed to tho Minister of labour as Follows: —" Ka'apoi and llangiora traders with a shop and factory combined will be greatly inconvenienced by the . withdrawal of permits to hold the weekly > half-holiday on the one day. Business men of both towns would welcome a universal Saturday' half-holiday, but small traders will be tied to business six days a. week unless one half-holiday does shop and factory, and I respectfully ask that tho present system be extended till Parliament mccto and something definite is decided."
