NEW ZEALAND EXPORTS.

The returns of tlio quantity and value of exports from New Zealand during tlio financial year ended March. 31 are published in tho Gazette. Exports of coal, gold, silver, and minerals aro shown to have aggregated £2,534,855, a3 compared- with £2,379,104 in tho year before. Fisheries show only £19,879, whilo a marked falling-oil is notioeable under tho holdings of fungus, kauri gum, and timber, tho values for 1907 being £831,163, as compared, with £880,431 for .the preceding 12 months, * Under frozen meats, wool,-tallow, butter, cheese, hides, livo stock, bacon and hams, etc., • the, year recently closed made, a marked improvement, tho ligurca being£14,548,171 for 1907, and £11,495,523 for' 1906. A falliug-off is shown, in regajd to the values of agricultural produco exported, tho year having only £242,837 to its credit, us compared with £433,977 for the year preceding. Tho principal falling-oIF is in wheat. Manufactures ■ (leather, pliormium, woollens, etc.) total £1,064,932, and "miscellaneous" values are shown at £35,793. Tho total values of New Zealand produco and manufactures exported are set down at £19,277,640. The figures for the year ended March, 1906, being £16,109,950. Specie is responsible for a largo increase (£93,030. against. £20,117). The import values for tho year arc given as £14,628,005.
