NEW ANGLICAN CATHEDRAL.
In our issue of Tuesday wo announced that- ii new organisation called the New Cothrclral Board Associates had been started, under (lie presidency of the Kev. W, Curzou-Siijscrs, to endeavour to raise tlio building hind up to £10,000, so as to enable ,1 start to be mode and to claim the £1000 offered conditionally by the S.P.O.K. on the 510,000 being subscribed. To the list of associates given tlio fellowins names have to bo added:—Mcsdamcs Holdsworth and G. A. Heade, Miss Joachim, and Mr J. Lcthbridcje. Tho workers now number 50. Since the start was made of canvassing for donations the result must be gratifying to those engaged, j-coing that the president was able to report to the, Cathedral Board yesterday
that fho reports sent to him from 17 of tho 50 associates reached a total of £500, Tins total covers only less than an eighth of tho names to bo called upon. Tho associates aro working with a will, and, though they often havo to call again in order to receive n final reply as to tho donation promised, yet tho .refusals aro very tow, a.nd thus far out of some 80 names only 12 refused.
