RAILWAY ACCIDENT AT WAIPAHI.
_ .. CtOHE, April 9. the Dunedin express collided at AVaipahi at noon to-day with a train from Invereargill which was standing at. Waipahi. No very. serious damage was done, but the mail van was smashed and the engine also unwaged a littlp, but not sufficient to disable it. No ono was hurt. The express is said bv passengers to have overrun tho signal, and the brakes when applied did not hold it sufficiently to stop before strikiug tho eta-nding train. The Mongers wero not greatly inconvenienced, and the mail not hurt.
