THE EXHIBITION.
STATEMENT BY HON. G. FOWLDS.
(Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, April 27. Interviewed to-day regarding the Exhibition, tho Hon, G>. Fowlds said:—"l must confess that tho expenditure has been a' •little more than I anticipated, but as to what tho loss will bo depends a good.deal upon the realisation of the' buildings and other assets. In anv ease I consider that the holding of .the Exhibition will indirectly bo a great gain to tho colony." , 1 Regarding tho oruan, tho Minister said: "The people of Chri6tchurch bavc hold the impression all along that tho orgn.n was tp lie presented to the city. So far I have not been able to find any docu-. nient to prove that that was the intention of tho Ministry, although I know Mr Soddon in ;i. speech there said that tlie organ would remain in Cliristahurch for nil timo. He may, however, have meant that ho frit sure the organ would bo purchased by tho oitizenß," '
