A football match was played at Queenstown yesterday afternoon between two local teams—Hemarkables and Queenstown. The former won after a hard game, played on a sloppy ground, by G points' to nil. Rain fell at intervals during- the progress of the genie. His .Excellency the Governor was a spectator of the match.

The Railway Loco, team defeated the Southern _at Carisbrook yesterday afternoon by 10 points to nil.
